DTHA 2027: Emede APC Leaders Deny Endorsement Saga, Igbine Commends Actions

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Emede, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Duke Igbine, has commended the decision of the Emede Ward 5,  leaders to rescind the decision of the endorsement of former Secretary to Isoko South Local Government Council, Mr. Dennis Obrogo for the Delta State House of Assembly, Isoko South Constituency 1, to allow fair playing ground for other aspirants.

Comrade Igbine stated that, “The people of Emede ward 05 express heartfelt appreciation to the leaders of APC in Emede for rescinding their earlier decision endorsing a sole aspirant, Mr. Dennis Obrogo for the Isoko South Constituency 1, House of Assembly primary election”.

According to him, the change of heart is a result of widespread condemnation from all the wards, Oleh, Irri and Emede respectively.

He said that, “I commend the leaders for listening to the voices of the people and acknowledging the unfair process used in selecting the sole candidate, it is victory for democracy and fair play”.

“I also thank the APC leaders in Oleh and Irri for speaking out against the process and outcome. Their stance shows that unity and fairness are paramount”.

He appealed to the leaders and stakeholders to allow Emede, not impose a sole candidate, saying that will allow the Constituency leaders to choose the best fit to represent Isoko South Constituency 1 at the Delta State House of Assembly.

“Emede have credible aspirants such as,  Mrs. Pally Eghove, Dr. Sylvester Onoyona, who contested at the 2023 general election  with Hon. Jonathan Ajiroghene Ukodhiko, and now seeks the State House of Assembly seat.

He added that, others are; Hon. Emakpor Odogu (I Have A Dream) who recently resigned as Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development in line with the State Government directives to all political appointees who wish to seek an elective position and Dennis Obrogo who served as secretary to the local government under Hon. Itiako Ikpokpo led administration who was earlier endorsed through a process many see as controversial.
